Inventory Technician
Under the supervision of the Manager of Fleet Maintenance or an assigned Supervisor, an employee of this classification performs a variety of tasks to establish and maintain an effective Inventory System as required for the proper management and disbursement of Kivi Bros Trucking inventory. This position includes ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data, shipping and receiving functions, basic purchasing, and other related duties as assigned.
The Inventory Technician performs the duties and tasks determined by the assigned supervisor as follows:
- Maintain an effective Inventory System to ensure availability of inventory as it pertains to the maintenance and planning of scheduled work.
- Assign new stock codes as requested and approved; ensure initial replenishment of new stock items; conduct stock analysis to maintain effective inventory levels and identify obsolete materials for removal from stock.
- Generate and review appropriate reports as necessary (e.g., stock replenishment, open receiving, etc.).
- Accurately track and account for stock items through proper issue and return procedures.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct physical inventory counts and audits.
- Perform receiving functions including the verification and data entry of stock and non-stock deliveries.
- Perform shipping functions.
- Purchase inventory parts for all Kivi Bros terminals.
- Respond timely and professionally to all inventory requests made by vendors and client personnel.
- Operate a forklift, lifting devices, and other tools necessary for shipping, receiving, and disbursement.
- Perform cleaning duties and other related projects to maintain clean and orderly conditions.
- Maintain a constant awareness of safe work practices.
- Attend in-service training as required by supervisor.
- Assist in the training and education of other employees, including general instruction and specific training.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with warehousing processes associated with trucking operations.
- Proficiency in the operation of data management systems to perform inventory or other business functions.
- Knowledge of terms common to parts management, receiving, and shipping functions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and supervisors.
- Ability to read and write clearly and effectively, with strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain compliance with various contracts, policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments, and other interruptions that may impact deadlines.
- Graduation from high school and 3 years of responsible experience as an Inventory Technician; or progressively responsible experience in a storeroom as a Parts or Inventory Clerk; or a combination of experience and directly related education which totals 3 years.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License.

- Ability to be mobile over a variety of steps, ramps, and ladders.
- Capable of reaching overhead and bending over.
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform regular lifting and moving of supplies and equipment.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

The work environment described here is representative of that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to the following:
- Airborne particles and dust.
- Working near moving mechanical parts.
Annual Salary
$52,500 – $55,000
